Myyyy myyy myyyy myyy myyy myyy! Deliciousssss!! This little gem was trending here on Yelp a couple of months ago and I decided to stop by!! Last month...So glad that I did! My mom and I got steak tacos. Two on flour (for me) 1 on corn (for her) taco comes standard with cilantro and onion. We asked for lettuce, tomato, sour cream, avocado, which were extras, a medium sized rice, medium sized beans, a medium horchata and a squirt! The total was about $48. Everything was amazing! The steak meat was cut in small pieces and seasoned to perfection. The rice was seasoned well. The beans were the perfect consistency of velvety goodness. The horchata was great too. Not too sweet but next time I will tell them light ice. Don't forget the green and red salsas! Both are delicious! The green one has a kick and it heavenly, the red sauce is like a blended pico! I highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!

Visiting Chicago for a few days with a friend and we wanted some good, authentic tacos. I read that the area we are in (Little Village/Pilsen) is known for great tacos. We found this small, cozy spot less than five minutes away. I ordered three chicken tacos with cilantro and onion, nothing crazy. However! These were some of the best tacos I have had in a while! The chicken was so flavorful and the taco was packed with meat. The green sauce was spicy and delicious. We came around 5 PM and it was surprisingly empty. I don't know how this place doesn't stay PACKED! A must try.

Authentic tacos! Got takeout from here, but the restaurant does have seating and it's cute inside. It didn't take too long to get my tacos after ordering. I got 3 tacos, all with cilantro and onions, and here's my ranking. 1. Al Pastor: 10/10 - SO flavorful, slightly sweet, well spiced. The pork is so tender. Definitely a must. 2. Carne Asada: 8/10 - Pretty good! The meat was rich and fatty, but besides that, not much other flavor. The salsa verde the tacos came with was a good addition though, and had a nice kick. 3. Chicken: 6.5/10 - Not bad, just not great. The chicken isn't dry or anything, but adding your own salsa definitely carries the flavor.

We wanted to try a New Mexican spot in the area and SO glad we chose Taqueria Tayahua! The inside is nice, more like a nice Mexican restaurant than a casual taqueria, but the prices are not too high. Definitely recommend the tacos and other dishes over the burrito. The burrito was probably our least favorite thing there (not much flavor stood out). They give complimentary chips and salsa and the red salsa is sooo good!! The green salsa was too spicy for us. Service was attentive, and again prices were reasonable for portion sizes. The tacos were pretty big.

On a busy street in little village, it doesn't get more authentic than this little restaurant serving up a full menu of Mexican favorites. Tayahua boxes with the best of them for street tacos in Chicago. The encarbanado taco, a fully loaded rib-eye taco with grilled onions and jalapeño was the star of the show as advertised. You do not want to skip on this too 40 taco to eat before you die according to thrillist. 6 tacos for about $30. Only knock is that the times of getting full off tacos for under $10 is so far gone!

This was definitely a great spot. From the moment I walked up I could smell the food. I was on a quest to find good tacos in Chicago and this place delivered. The pastor taco was so good! Their green salsa is also fire like probably top 5 best I've ever had. Additionally, I orders chicken tacos, steak, and a combo taco with steak, grilled onions, beans, and jalapeños. The service was amazing. 10/10 cannot wait to go back!

I recently came back to order and in the same week (shamelessly) went back. But I'm glad I did For take out (they were fast to take my order and decently quick for my order). I tried several tacos. I will say their tacos are still as good as the first time I went. In addition to the Asada, I had Al pastor, tacos encarbonados (you have to get two), all really great. I went back later in the week to dine in with a friend. She had a huarache sencillo and I had a burrito. Burritos are a good size and the sauce to pour on top is great. Staff is just as quick when you dine in as they are to take your order for take out.
